# Reach rate: score homepage tests on where visitors go next

October 2, 2026 · Updated November 1, 2026

## Overview

Score your homepage and landing page A/B testing on where visitors go
next: with reach rate, each version is judged on the share of its
visitors who reach the page you choose. Test two homepage heroes and
the winner is the one that sends more shoppers into your product
pages, even in a week where few of them buy.

## Score a test on where visitors go next

### Pick a goal page and a time window

Choose where the test should send people, one page like your offer page or a whole section like every product page, and how soon after seeing the test they have to get there.

## Run several tests at once, and see where they overlap

### Overlap with your other live tests

Each test shows how many of its visitors are also in your other live tests, in total and test by test, so you know how much two results could be influencing each other.

### A warning when two tests change the same element

If two live tests edit the same element on the same page, both tests show a warning naming the other test and the elements they share. You see it before the results get muddied, not after.

### Uneven splits

Tests running together don't have to get equal traffic. Try a new idea on a small share of shoppers while your proven test keeps most of them.

## Notes on every test, and tests built in your theme

### Notes on every test

Every test has a Notes tab, a dated, signed log your team can add to, so the story behind a result stays with the test.

### Tests built in your theme code

When a change needs your theme, like a new section or a price read from the product, your developer builds both versions there and Ordinary scores it like any other test. When you press Start, Ordinary checks the test is live on the page.
